Method Of Forming Cantilevered Support Arms For Plastic Bag Rack

View page
US Patent:
48815772, Nov 21, 1989
Filed:
Apr 17, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/339320
Inventors:
Alvin L. Stroh - Downey CA
Terry C. Pilon - Claremont CA
Assignee:
McMillin Wire & Plating, Inc. - Los Angeles CA
Challenge Bag California, Inc. - Rancho Cucamonga CA
International Classification:
B21F 4500
US Classification:
140 71R
Abstract:
A two-wire structure for use in suspending plastic bags on a rack is formed by inwardly bending each of the end portions of a single straight length of wire such that each lies against the middle portion thereof with their terminal ends butt welded together and with an upwardly directed looped protuberance formed on each end of the two-wire structure. Each end portion of the two-wire structure so formed is then bent to provide cantilevered support arms extending at right angles from each end of the middle portion thereof which forms the back of the two-wire structure by which the cantilevered support arms are attached to a rack. Such a construction provides the upwardly directed looped protuberances for use as safety precautions on the ends of the cantilevered support arms and further assures that each of the cantilevered support arms is provided with a continuous surface throughout its length. Such a continuous surface is needed to enable small mounting holes punched on the side handles of a stack of plastic bags in a flattened condition to pass over the end protuberances and slide along the cantilevered support arms during the storing and individual opening of the plastic bags in the stack.

Plastic Bag Rack For Checkstand

View page
US Patent:
45125406, Apr 23, 1985
Filed:
Apr 18, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/486262
Inventors:
Alvin L. Stroh - Downey CA
Assignee:
McMillin Wire and Plating, Inc. - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
B65B 6712
US Classification:
248 95
Abstract:
A rack for a plastic bag has its back adjustably mounted by a pair of attachment devices on the undersurface of a hinged panel which normally covers a well provided on the table top of a checkstand in a supermarket. When a checkout clerk at the checkstand starts to work without a bagboy assisting her, she swings the panel into a upright position and lowers it into a guideway provided on the rear of the well, and then moves the rack to an elevated position on the pair of attachment devices. This enables the handles of a plastic bag to be placed over the side support arms of the rack so as to suspend the bag in an open position in the well to facilitate the clerk placing items therein as they are rung up on the register.

US Patent:
39775291, Aug 31, 1976
Filed:
Jun 3, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/475657
Inventors:
Alvin L. Stroh - Downey CA
Assignee:
McMillin Wire & Plating, Inc. - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A47F 513
US Classification:
211187
Abstract:
A display rack for retail merchandise is formed without a back panel by providing a framework which uses upper and lower rear spreader bars having attachment means on the ends thereof for interconnecting the rear upright posts of a pair of spaced sidewalls. Each sidewall is provided with a plurality of vertically spaced transverse wire support members. Such an arrangement permits wire shelves formed with reinforcing rear walls to be readily mounted on the framework by fastener portions on the sides thereof engaging fastener portions on opposing wire support members of the sidewalls.

US Patent:
39930025, Nov 23, 1976
Filed:
Aug 28, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/608527
Inventors:
Alvin L. Stroh - Downey CA
International Classification:
A47B 900
US Classification:
108108
Abstract:
A merchandising system is disclosed which provides improved supporting brackets for mounting wire shelves on spaced apart structures secured to a supporting wall. The supporting brackets are provided with a pair of detachable clamps by which the brackets can be simply hingedly attached to the sides of a wire shelf formed with a back wall as well as the sides of a more conventional wire shelf formed without a back wall.
