The present invention is directed to a device and system for capturing transaction data sent between a point of sale terminal and a peripheral device. The transaction data capture device includes an input for receiving transaction data sent from the point of sale terminal to a peripheral device during the course of a transaction with a customer and an output for transmitting the transaction data to the peripheral device. The transaction data capture device further includes a processor programmed to detect and save the transaction data received at the input and associate the transaction data with customer identity information identifying the customer. The transaction data capture device also includes a memory for storing the associated transaction data and customer identity and a network interface for routing the transaction data and associated identity information from memory over a data communications network.

An intent classifier determines one intent from the serialized intent file based on the received message content. A response is generated according to the one intent. A reply generator generates a reply including the source phone number as a destination, the landline phone number as a source and the response.

An intelligent interface responds to an order received in a text messaging session by initiating payment from an electronic wallet. An IP network interface receives requests including a source phone number, message content and the destination phone number. From the requests, an order program receives an order destined to a client establishment associated with the destination phone number. A response is generated with payment options from an electronic wallet associated with the source phone number. A reply generator generates a reply including the source phone number as a destination, the destination phone number as a source and the response. Selection of one of the payment options in the response causes the order program to process the payment for the order from the electronic wallet and forward the order to the client establishment.

A voice call conversion system includes an interactive voice response app offering the voice caller an option to engage in a texting session with an intelligent interface on an application server. A telephony server connected to the telephone network receives voice calls and communicates with the application server to initiate an interactive voice response session. The texting session can take place even if the call was placed to a landline phone number. A gateway converts text messages on a cellular network to requests on an IP network and in the opposite direction converts IP network communications to text messages on the cellular network.
