Filed:
Jun 9, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/157095
Inventors:
Matthew N. Thurin - Wauwatosa WI, US
Darren K. Robling - Racine WI, US
Linda Moy Madore - Vernon Hills IL, US
Ronald H. Spang - Kenosha WI, US
Charles P. Althoff - Brooklyn NY, US

Stian Tesdal - New York NY, US
Assignee:
S.C. JOHNSON & SON, INC. - Racine WI
International Classification:
B05B 3/10
B05B 1/14
B05B 1/32
E03D 9/02
B05B 3/04
US Classification:
23922215, 4223, 239579, 239575, 2395905
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing device is provided that is capable of discharging fluid in multiple different directions simultaneously. The device may include a deflector which redirects an initial stream of fluid from the container into multiple sub-streams that are oriented in different directions. The device may create a spray pattern that substantially covers an entire 360 degree area surrounding the device, which may be advantageous for certain applications such as toilet bowl cleaner dispensers. A control valve or flow restrictor may be provided for preventing unintended discharge of fluid when the container is inverted.

Fluid Dispensing Device Having Multiple Spray Patterns

US Patent:
20120312896, Dec 13, 2012
Filed:
Jun 9, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/157110
Inventors:
Matthew N. Thurin - Wauwatosa WI, US
Darren K. Robling - Racine WI, US
Linda Moy Madore - Vernon Hills IL, US
Charles P. Althoff - Brooklyn NY, US
Hideaki Matsui - New York NY, US
Brook S. Kennedy - Glen Ridge NJ, US
Stian Tesdal - New York NY, US
Assignee:
S.C. JOHNSON & SON, INC. - Racine WI
International Classification:
B05B 7/24
US Classification:
239337
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing device is disclosed that is capable of producing two distinct spray patterns. The device may include a rotatable hub having a first barrel for producing a first spray pattern and a second barrel for producing a second spray pattern. The barrels may be oriented in different directions with a predetermined angle between directions, such as approximately 180 degrees. A shell may be coupled to and rotatable with the hub. The shell may include a first portion having a first structural feature corresponding to a characteristic of the first spray pattern and a second portion may having a second structural feature corresponding to a characteristic of the second spray pattern. The structural features inform the user of a characteristic of the spray pattern that will be discharged by the device by the associated barrels, thereby permitting the user to intuitively select the desired spray pattern.

Light Therapy Platform System

US Patent:
20130066404, Mar 14, 2013
Filed:
Sep 5, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/604012
Inventors:
Jay Tapper - Wayne PA, US
Lawrence A. Blaustein - Chagrin Falls OH, US
David Shuter - Palm Beach Gardens FL, US
Eric Freitag - Brooklyn NY, US
Charles Peter Althoff - Brooklyn NY, US
Alistair Bramley - Brooklyn NY, US
Allen Zadeh - Brooklyn NY, US
Daniel Joseph Shuter - Palm Beach Gardens FL, US
Zbigniew Paul Lorenc - New York NY, US
International Classification:
A61N 5/06
US Classification:
607 90, 607 88
Abstract:
Phototherapy systems comprising a therapeutic lamp platform for radiant lamps such as LEDs disposed in an assembly comprising a first wall to which the lamps are affixed thereto and a second wall, closer to the patient, spaced from the first wall wherein the lamps are recessed relative thereto. The second wall comprises a reflective surface facing towards a patient and a plurality of light apertures substantially aligned with the LEDs on the first wall for communicating lamp radiation from the lamps to a user. The lamps and associated circuitry are disposed between the first and second wall so that the reflective surface is relatively smooth and seamless towards the patient. The walls have a malleable rigidity for flexible adjustability relative to the user. The device is mounted to the user with a frame comprising an eyeglass frame or goggles including lenses for shielding the user's eyes from lamp radiation.

Storage Bag With Visually Distinct Features Providing The Bag With An Asymmetric Appearance

US Patent:
20130195384, Aug 1, 2013
Filed:
Mar 14, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/804234
Inventors:
Imtiaz A. Musaliar - Racine WI, US
Bunlim Ly - Ann Arbor MI, US
Jonathan David Horn - Vernon Hills IL, US
Pamela J. Weisenberger - Racine WI, US
Jose Porchia - Greenfield WI, US
Charles P. Althoff - Brooklyn NY, US
Erica Eden Cohen - New York NY, US
Assignee:
S.C. JOHNSON & SON, INC. - Racine WI
International Classification:
B65D 33/16
US Classification:
383 63, 383105
Abstract:
A storage bag is provided with visually distinct features that facilitate opening and closing of the bag. The visually distinct features result in the bag having an asymmetric appearance about one or more imaginary lines along the bag. The visually distinct features and resulting asymmetries provide a visual cue for a user as to how the bag should be grasped when being opened. The visually distinct features, as well as other features of the bag, may also facilitate manufacturing of the bag.
