Carburetor For Stratified Charge Two-Cycle Engine

View page
US Patent:
20080224335, Sep 18, 2008
Filed:
Mar 16, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/687199
Inventors:
David R. Shebuski - Franklin TN, US
International Classification:
F02M 1/02
US Classification:
261 233
Abstract:
A carburetor for a stratified charge two cycle engine with a choke bore, venturi, and throttle bore configuration matching an irregularly shaped choke valve. The trailing and leading edges of the choke and throttle valves, respectively, preferably overlap during wide open throttle operation to separate a single intake passage bore into an air intake passage above the choke and throttle valves and an air/fuel intake passage below the choke and throttle valves. The choke valve is preferably bent to minimize operational rotation and limit fuel spit back.

Carburetor With One Piece Choke Valve And Shaft Assembly

US Patent:
20120161342, Jun 28, 2012
Filed:
Dec 28, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/979801
Inventors:
David R. Shebuski - Franklin TN, US
International Classification:
F02M 1/02
US Classification:
261 646
Abstract:
A carburetor comprising a one piece choke valve and shaft assembly including a shaft, a detent plate formed on a first end, a lever arm formed on a second end, a pair of opposing collars formed adjacent the detent plate and lever arm, a valve plate centrally positioned on shaft, and opposing splines formed on the shaft enabling it to be inserted through an assembly slot cut into a shaft bore in the carburetor body. The detent plate includes a partial annular slot encompassing the angular range of travel of the choke valve. First, second and third detent pockets are formed along an outer edge of the slot. A positive positioning pin engages or interacts with the detent plate to positively position the choke valve in first, second or third angular positions corresponding to “close choke”, “half choke” and “open choke.”

Carburetor With Integrated Cable Retainer

US Patent:
20140076277, Mar 20, 2014
Filed:
Mar 4, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/784672
Inventors:
David Shebuski - Franklin TN, US
International Classification:
F02M 17/00
US Classification:
123337
Abstract:
A carburetor comprising a throttle cable housing mountable over a throttle cable and couplable to a retainer or receptacle that is an integrated part of the carburetor assembly. The throttle cable housing is configured with a molded protrusion that snaps into the retainer or receptacle on the carburetor so that once installed the throttle cable housing cannot be removed without a special tool. The retainer or receptacle accepts the snap in throttle cable housing and can be positioned in a variety of ways to facilitate the requirements of the engine manufacturer. In a rotary carburetor, the retainer or receptacle is preferable formed on the rotor cover. In a carburetor with a butterfly throttle valve, the retainer or receptacle is preferable formed as an integrated part of the metering chamber cover.
