Ptc Controlled Environment Heater

View page
US Patent:
20120217233, Aug 30, 2012
Filed:
Feb 16, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/398354
Inventors:
Howard J. Base - Macedonia OH, US
Derrick L. Sanislo - Thompson OH, US
International Classification:
H05B 3/12
H05B 3/44
US Classification:
219534, 219553
Abstract:
A sealed self regulating heater assembly includes a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating element and a pair of spaced electrodes. Each electrode includes a first surface with the first surfaces of the pair of electrodes being spaced from one another, such that the PTC element is located between the first surfaces of the pair of electrodes and is energized by the pair of electrodes. A sheath surrounds the pair of electrodes in the PTC element. First and second closures are located at opposed end of the sheath with the sheath and the closures cooperating to define an interior space. An electrically insulative and thermally conductive film material is disposed within the interior space and a supply of oxygen is provided to the interior space.

US Patent:
20100200569, Aug 12, 2010
Filed:
Feb 12, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/370126
Inventors:
Howard J. Base - Macedonia OH, US
Derrick L. Sanislo - Thompson OH, US
International Classification:
H05B 3/06
US Classification:
219550
Abstract:
A self-regulating heater assembly comprises a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating element and a pair of spaced electrodes. Each electrode includes a first surface. The first surfaces of the pair of electrodes are spaced from one another. The PTC element is located between and supported by the first surfaces of the pair of electrodes and is energized by the pair of electrodes. Means for limiting a compressive force on the PTC element is provided. The means includes an electrically insulative spacer member positioned between the first surfaces of the pair of electrodes. A first pair of power leads, one power lead being connected to each of the pair of electrodes, energizes the pair of electrodes.

Pipe Fitting With Inner And Outer Seals

View page
US Patent:
20210156500, May 27, 2021
Filed:
Nov 21, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/690812
Inventors:
- Morris Plains NJ, US
Derrick Sanislo - Thompson OH, US
International Classification:
F16L 37/092
F16L 47/06
Abstract:
A pipe fitting configured to be coupled to a pipe. The pipe fitting includes a body that is elongate along a central axis that extends in a longitudinal direction. The body includes a shell, a stiffener, and a shell-stiffener. The shell includes a shell inner surface that defines a shell through hole that extends through the shell in the longitudinal direction. The stiffener is positioned within the shell through hole, and the stiffener includes a stiffener outer surface that faces the shell inner surface such that the stiffener outer surface and the shell inner surface cooperate to define a pocket configured to receive the pipe. A shell-stiffener seal member is positioned about the stiffener such that a seal member inner surface is substantially flush against the stiffener outer surface and a seal member outer surface abuts against the shell inner surface.

In-Line High Purity Chemical Heater

US Patent:
20190323728, Oct 24, 2019
Filed:
Apr 12, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/383235
Inventors:
Howard J. Base - Macedonia OH, US
Derrick L. Sanislo - Thompson OH, US
Assignee:
Tom Richards, Inc. - Mentor OH
International Classification:
F24H 1/14
F28F 1/40
H05B 3/58
Abstract:
A heater assembly includes a heated hose construction including a thermoplastic conduit that is relatively thin and a resistance wire or resistance ribbon wound around an exterior periphery of the conduit and in thermal communication therewith. An overall coverage of a surface area of the conduit by the resistance wire or resistance ribbon is at least 50% of the surface area of the conduit so that the resistance wire or resistance ribbon reinforces the conduit. A non-conductive braid layer is disposed over the resistance wire or resistance ribbon. The braid layer is permeable to vapor leaking out of the conduit. A support member is provided by which the heated hose construction is supported. The support member may be accommodated in a housing through which a purge gas flows.

Point Of Dispense Heat Exchanger For Fluids

US Patent:
20170328651, Nov 16, 2017
Filed:
May 10, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/591587
Inventors:
Joel Rozga - Leroy Township OH, US
Derrick Sanislo - Thompson OH, US
Howard J. Base - Macedonia OH, US
Jack M. Geiger - Willoughby OH, US
Assignee:
Tom Richards, Inc. - Mentor OH
International Classification:
F28F 1/12
F28F 21/04
F25B 21/04
Abstract:
A heat exchanger for fluids includes an elongated conduit. At least two spaced fluid passageways are defined in the conduit and extend longitudinally through the conduit from a first end thereof to a second end thereof. A heat transfer element thermally contacts a surface of the conduit to transfer heat to or from a fluid flowing through the at least two spaced passageways. The conduit can be unitary and of one piece. In one embodiment, the conduit can be a single crystal.
