Sensor Apparatus And Method For Noise Reduction

View page
US Patent:
7880780, Feb 1, 2011
Filed:
Aug 3, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/659419
Inventors:
Ralf Widenhorn - Portland OR, US
Erik Bodegom - Portland OR, US
Richard L. Berry - Lyons OR, US
Armin Rest - La Serena, CL
International Classification:
H04N 9/64
US Classification:
348243
Abstract:
A sensor including an array of sensor elements generates an image responsive to electromagnetic radiation exposure. The sensor reads coordinates for predetermined hot sensor elements and calculates a dark count for each hot sensor element. The sensor determines a temperature indicator based on the dark count for the hot sensor elements and calculates the dark count for all sensor elements based on the temperature indicator. Based on the dark count the sensor is able to compensate for dark current.

Method For Using A Bicycle Tire Inner Tube To Make A Tie Down Strap

View page
US Patent:
8636452, Jan 28, 2014
Filed:
Dec 12, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/316947
Inventors:
John D. Summer - Portland OR, US
Erik Bodegom - Portland OR, US
International Classification:
B61D 45/00
US Classification:
410101
Abstract:
A tie down strap is used for securing cargo or to attach various objects. A tie down strap is made from a bicycle tire inner tube and clips which can be removeably and adjustably attached to either end of the bicycle tire inner tube which is cut along a radial axis.

Intraoral Jaw Tracking Device

View page
US Patent:
59890231, Nov 23, 1999
Filed:
Dec 31, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/224186
Inventors:
John D. Summer - Portland OR
Erik Bodegom - Portland OR
Allen Lee - Portland OR
International Classification:
A61C 1904
US Classification:
433 69
Abstract:
A jaw tracking device, which fits entirely in the mouth and can be attached to conventional removable dental appliances, tracks the location and movement of the lower jaw with high precision and speed when the mouth is closed or nearly closed by recording the projection of light from a light emitting diode, laser diode, or fiberoptic source fixed to the lower dental arch onto one or two position sensitive detectors (PSDS) fixed to the upper dental arch. Since the system acquires data quickly enough to record the minute deflections of the lower jawbone which occur each time the jaw is closed eccentrically, it can be used with acoustic sensors attached to the individual teeth in order to analyze a person's bite. Since each PSD relies on only four outputs, its data can be easily transmitted by telemetry so that it can be used to track the location of the jaw during sleep without requiring wires protruding from the mouth of the sleeping subject.

Interactive System And Method For Shooting And Target Tracking For Self-Improvement And Training

View page
US Patent:
20140272807, Sep 18, 2014
Filed:
Mar 14, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/213871
Inventors:
Kenneth W. Guenther - Portland OR, US
Scott MacIntosh - Boston MA, US
Erik Bodegom - Portland OR, US
International Classification:
F41G 3/26
US Classification:
434 19
Abstract:
A device configured to track and capture the movement data of a target as well as shooting and firearm movement activity of a hunter includes a housing, a camera, sensors, a processor, a memory, and a battery. The camera is disposed in close proximity to the housing to capture the movement of a target. One or more sensors are disposed in the housing and interfaced with the processor to capture the velocity and orientation of a gun. A trigger activation sensor is also in communication with the processor. The memory stores camera activity, trigger activity, sensor activities, and also stores an alarm setting on the device. The processor activates the alarm setting when predefined criteria are met. Radar can be incorporated to determine the distance of the target from the user. GPS can also be included to provide precise location and time information.
