Plascore, Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
F28F 3/14
US Classification:
165170, 165 53
Abstract:
A radiant panel includes a first skin and a fluid conduit. The first skin includes an inner face and an outer face and the fluid conduit is formed in multiple rows with at least a portion of the fluid conduit bonded to the inner face of the first skin. The fluid conduit of each of the rows has a serpentine configuration that provides structural support for the first skin.

Wall System, Mounting Plate And Insert

US Patent:
7478504, Jan 20, 2009
Filed:
Aug 7, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/213589
Inventors:
Fritz Huebner - Holland MI, US
Kelly Van Koevering - Zeeland MI, US
Assignee:
Plascore, Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
E04H 1/12
E04H 1/06
US Classification:
522381, 52239, 52 366, 403 11, 403 16, 24822251
Abstract:
An assembly for a framed system includes an elongated post and a mounting plate shaped for installation in a post channel of the elongated post. The elongated post includes a first rib integrated along an inner surface of the first lateral side and an elongated second rib integrated along an inner surface of the second lateral side. The mounting plate includes an aperture for receiving the fastener and includes a first slot for receiving the first rib and a second slot for receiving the second rib. When the mounting plate is installed in the post channel, the first and second ribs are deformed by the installation of the mounting plate such that the deformed first and second ribs retain the mounting plate in the post channel.

Radiant Panel

US Patent:
7926557, Apr 19, 2011
Filed:
Oct 20, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/551420
Inventors:
Fritz Huebner - Holland MI, US
Kelly Van Koevering - Zeeland MI, US
Assignee:
Plascore, Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
F28F 3/12
US Classification:
165170, 165 53
Abstract:
A radiant panel includes a first and second skins and a fluid conduit between the first and second skins. The first and second skins each include an inner face and an outer face. The fluid conduit is formed in multiple rows, and is positioned within thermally conducting brackets bonded to an inner face of at least one of the skins. The thermally conducting brackets provide a thermally conducting path between the fluid conduit and the first and second skins of the radiant panel.

Plastic Heat Exchanger

View page
US Patent:
47352612, Apr 5, 1988
Filed:
Nov 22, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/800662
Inventors:
Fritz Huebner - Zeeland MI
Assignee:
Plascore, Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
F28F 2106
F28F 918
F24H 302
US Classification:
165 76
Abstract:
The specification discloses an air-to-air, polymeric heat exchanger having a housing and a core removably mounted within the housing. The housing includes four generally identical duct units, which are secured to one another, and a top and a bottom, which are secured to the duct units. The core includes a pair of end walls and a plurality of tubes extending between, and opening through, the end walls. Each end wall includes a plurality of tubular projections or pockets extending from the end wall in a common direction. Opposite ends of the tubes are secured within the tubular pockets in the opposite end walls. A method of constructing the core includes the step of severing the tubular projections after the tubes are positioned therein to expose the tube interiors through the end walls. Preferably, the tubular projections are severed using a hot wire to also fuse the tubes within the end walls.

Deformable Impact Test Barrier

View page
US Patent:
56202768, Apr 15, 1997
Filed:
Sep 29, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/536058
Inventors:
Michael C. Niemerski - Jenison MI
Gerald J. Schoeb - Holland MI
Fritz Huebner - Holland MI
Assignee:
Plascore, Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
E01F 1300
US Classification:
404 6
Abstract:
An impactor for a movable, deformable barrier, simulating an automobile, comprising an upright, solid backing support, a plurality of energy absorbing impact segments protruding from the support, each segment having an outer impact face and each comprising a plurality of layers of honeycomb having different crush strength characterized by increasing crush strength of successive layers from the outer impact face to the support, the layers being separated by and secured to perforate plates therebetween allowing air flow from a crushing layer to the succeeding layers when the layers are successively crushed and each impact segment having a thin vent layer of noncrushing slotted honeycomb adjacent the support for discharge of air from all of the segments as they are successively crushed. The layers in each segment are of essentially the same width and height. A solid face sheet is at said outer impact face of said segments.

Wall System Employing Grooved Posts, Connector Blocks And T-Bolt Receiving Battens

View page
US Patent:
56343000, Jun 3, 1997
Filed:
Mar 10, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/209119
Inventors:
Fritz Huebner - Holland MI
Amy V. Schouman - Wyoming MI
Assignee:
Plascore Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
E04B 119
US Classification:
52 361
Abstract:
A post and batten assembly for a wall panel system, the elongated post having a plurality of sides, at least one of which has an elongated groove and a pair of outer shoulders astraddle the groove, an elongated batten having a central body positioned in the elongated groove of and attached to the post, and the batten having a pair of flanges extending opposite each other and engaging the outer shoulders of the post, the batten central body having an outer face, and defining an elongated cavity open at the outer face, and the cavity having a pair of inner shoulders so that the cavity and inner shoulders define a T-slot in the batten to receive a T-bolt fastener. Fasteners connect the elongated batten to the post. Flanges of a pair of batten extend beyond the post parallel to each other to define a panel-receiving pocket therebetween. A connector block is attached to the post, and a second post is oriented orthogonally to the first post and has an end attached to the connector block so as to be indirectly connected to the first post in a T-pattern.

Honeycomb Fabrication

View page
US Patent:
57922950, Aug 11, 1998
Filed:
Aug 12, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/694411
Inventors:
Fritz Huebner - Holland MI
Gerard J. Schoeb - Holland MI
Assignee:
Plascore, Inc. - Zeeland MI
International Classification:
B32B 312
US Classification:
156197
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for forming honeycomb structure from a plurality of substrate layers. The layers are bonded together by spaced, parallel, solid node strips of thermoplastic material pressed and heated above the softening temperature to bond to the substrate surfaces and form a block. After cooling, the block is expanded into a honeycomb structure. Alternatively, the solid node strips can be placed on the spaced raised crests of corrugated layers of substrate, and successive layers bonded together by pressure and sufficient heat between the crests of one layer and the corresponding depression of the successive layer, to elevate the node strips above the softening temperature. Several alternative methods and apparatuses for achieving the result are disclosed.
