Extraction Of A Multiple Channel Time-Domain Output Signal From A Multichannel Signal

View page
US Patent:
8086334, Dec 27, 2011
Filed:
May 7, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/437253
Inventors:
Gregory Berchin - Shelburne VT, US
Assignee:
Akita Blue, Inc. - Hollis NH
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
700 94, 381 27
Abstract:
A digital signal processing system and method transforms pairs of channels selected from a multichannel signal into the frequency domain. Vector operations are performed upon the frequency-domain data by which signal components unique to one of the input channels are routed to one of the output channels, signal components unique to the other of the input channels are routed to another of the output channels, and signal components common to both channels are routed to a third and optionally to a fourth output channel. The frequency-domain output channels are then transformed back into the time-domain, forming a plurality of time-domain output channels. The vector operations are performed in a manner that preserves the overall information content of the input data.

US Patent:
20120059498, Mar 8, 2012
Filed:
May 11, 2010
Appl. No.:
13/319009
Inventors:
Gregory Berchin - Lake Saint Louis MO, US
Assignee:
AKITA BLUE, INC. - Hollis NH
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
700 94
Abstract:
A digital signal processing system and method transforms two time-domain signals into the frequency domain. Vector operations are performed upon the frequency-domain data by which signal components unique to one of the input signals are routed to one of the output signals, signal components unique to the other of the input signals are routed to another of the output signals, and signal components common to both signals are routed to a third and optionally to a fourth output signal. The frequency-domain output signals are then transformed back into the time-domain, forming an equivalent number of signals of output data. The vector operations are performed in a manner that preserves the overall information content of the input data.

Synchronized Phasor Measurement In Power Distribution Networks

View page
US Patent:
20180031617, Feb 1, 2018
Filed:
Jul 26, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/219775
Inventors:
- Hazelwood MO, US
Gregory Berchin - Lake Saint Louis MO, US
Lakshan Prageeth Piyasinghe - Florissant MO, US
Albert Fargnoli - St. Louis MO, US
Saeed Mirshekari - St. Louis MO, US
Assignee:
Aclara Technologies LLC - Hazelwood MO
International Classification:
G01R 21/133
H02J 13/00
G01D 4/00
Abstract:
Systems and methods for synchronized phasor measurement in a power distribution network are described. In an aspect, the systems and methods quantify the phase angle between voltages or currents at any two points in the distribution network. In another aspect, the systems and methods establish a common time reference between points on a power distribution network by transmitting a synchronization pulse throughout the distribution network. In an additional aspect, the systems and methods extract phasors from a power line waveform by utilizing a phase-locked loop (PLL) and regression of the zero-crossings of the PLL output waveform.

Method And Apparatus For Reducing Satellite Position Message Payload By Adaptive Data Compression Techniques

View page
US Patent:
20140253369, Sep 11, 2014
Filed:
Mar 5, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/785514
Inventors:
- Glendora CA, US
Gregory John Berchin - Lake Saint Louis MO, US
Assignee:
SubCarrier Systems Corporation - Glendora CA
International Classification:
G01S 19/07
US Classification:
342175, 342385, 342358
Abstract:
An adaptive method by which Differential GNSS corrections may be compressed. Each measurement datum to be transmitted to a rover for satellite navigation purposes is decomposed into two parts, namely, an anchor value and a delta value, and in some instances an added third part termed a nonce value is used. Encoding parameters such as the number of bits assigned to each part of the measurement datum, the order of the models used to convey positional data, and scaling constants in the models, are adjusted adaptively based on changing data and/or transmission medium characteristics. Adaptive compression also allows for anomalous conditions such as out-of-range data values to be handled gracefully.
