View page
US Patent:
6391247, May 21, 2002
Filed:
Aug 31, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/652093
Inventors:
Hans G. Heine - San Mateo FL
John H. Mortimer - Medford NJ
Vitaly A. Peysakhovich - Moorestown NJ
John C. Thorpe - Edgewater Park NJ
Assignee:
Inductotherm Corp. - Rancocas NJ
International Classification:
C21B 1300
US Classification:
266 44, 266234, 266237
Abstract:
A flat inductor heating system for inducing heat in a variety of applications including heating, melting and holding a melt at temperature. The system may also be used to stir the melt. The system includes at least one flat induction coil cast in an aggregate of shot and a binding material. The aggregate serves to direct magnetic flux to the melt, thereby improving efficiency. The system is situated above a refractory holding the melt and may either rest on the refractory or be raised and lowered into and out of the refractory.

Induction Melting Furnace With Metered Discharge

View page
US Patent:
6600768, Jul 29, 2003
Filed:
Jul 22, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/200358
Inventors:
Oleg S. Fishman - Maple Glen PA
Hans G. Heine - Wildwood Crest NJ
Joseph T. Belsh - Mount Laurel NJ
Assignee:
Inductotherm Corp. - Rancocas NJ
International Classification:
F27D 300
US Classification:
373142, 373140
Abstract:
An induction melting furnace comprises a melt chamber for heating a melt either directly by magnetic induction, or indirectly by magnetic induction heating of the melt chamber, or a combination of the two, and a meter chamber connected to the melt chamber for providing a metered discharge of the melt from the furnace. A gas can be injected into the furnace to provide a blanket over the surface of the melt in the melt chamber and a pressurized flush of the metered discharge of the melt from the meter chamber.

Dross Removal On Coating Lines

View page
US Patent:
61872571, Feb 13, 2001
Filed:
Jul 30, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/126177
Inventors:
Hans G. Heine - San Mateo FL
Oleg S. Fishman - Maple Glen PA
Assignee:
Inductotherm Corp. - Rancocas NJ
International Classification:
C22B 704
US Classification:
266 44
Abstract:
The invention presents an apparatus and method for dross removal from coating lines. The invention utilizes magnets to collect dross either in suspension or which has accumulated at or near the bottom of a coating pot. The invention utilizes the magnetic properties of the dross to separate the dross from the non-magnetic coating metal. The use of magnets allows for removal of dross from the coating metal without simultaneously removing valuable coating metal from the coating pot.

Pot For Coating Continuous Metallic Strip

View page
US Patent:
58728058, Feb 16, 1999
Filed:
Aug 14, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/696538
Inventors:
John H. Mortimer - Mt. Laurel NJ
Hans G. Heine - San Mateo FL
Assignee:
Inductotherm Corp. - Rancocas NJ
International Classification:
H05B 622
US Classification:
373151
Abstract:
A hot dip coating pot for containing a coating material in a liquid state. The coating pot comprises a substantially horizontal bottom and substantially vertical side walls. The bottom and the side walls define a first interior volume for containing the coating material. The bottom wall and a lower portion of each of the side walls defines a bottom portion which is separable from an upper portion of the side walls. The bottom portion has a predetermined interior volume less than the first interior volume.
