Film Cartridge Projection Device

View page
US Patent:
53631560, Nov 8, 1994
Filed:
Dec 22, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/171800
Inventors:
Dennis F. Tianello - Spencerport NY
John A. Romansky - Hilton NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03B 2100
US Classification:
353 26R
Abstract:
A projector having illumination and optical devices for projecting one or more images having a rotating magazine having a plurality of pockets disposed about its periphery for holding multiple slide film cartridges. The pockets loosely retain and orient the cartridges within the magazine in a manner such that a film strip contained therein can be advanced across a film gate between the illumination and optical devices once the magazine has rotated the pocket containing the cartridge to a projecting station.

Apparatus And Method For Separating Spliced Strips Of Photographic Film

View page
US Patent:
53733398, Dec 13, 1994
Filed:
Dec 22, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/171950
Inventors:
William J. Greene - Webster NY
John A. Romansky - Hilton NY
Randall R. Maysick - Churchville NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03D 302
US Classification:
354354
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are provided for separating photographic film strips, adhered to a splice, by restricting movement of the splice and then pulling the film strips longitudinally in opposite directions. According to one feature, the splice adhesive is heated until it softens, preferably with a hot shoe applied against the splice under pressure. According to other features a space is left between the ends of the film strips when they are spliced together, and the splice is engaged from both sides while the film strips are pulled apart. Still more specifically, according to another aspect of the invention, a carrier or splice pick-up web is provided for removing the splices from the area and for holding the removed splices in a manner particularly convenient for disposal.

Holder Apparatus For Heater Element

View page
US Patent:
44939825, Jan 15, 1985
Filed:
Sep 21, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/534522
Inventors:
John A. Romansky - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
F24H 300
US Classification:
219469
Abstract:
Apparatus for removably holding a heater element having at least one end with an electrical contact. The apparatus includes a body of heat and electrically insulating material having a first segment for releasably and solely supporting an elongated heater element by the contact end of said element and a second segment connected to and axially aligned with said first segment for mounting an electrical terminal which engages the contact at the end of a supported heater element. A third segment extends from the body for manually gripping the holder apparatus without danger of thermal hazard or contamination so that the heater element may be installed in and removed from a work station such as a heated fuser roller.

Adjustable Feed Tray Assembly

View page
US Patent:
53322096, Jul 26, 1994
Filed:
Oct 27, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/145056
Inventors:
John A. Romansky - Hilton NY
Randall R. Maysick - Churchville NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
B65H 100
US Classification:
271171
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus wherein paper sheets are fed to a transport system along a predetermined feed path having a center line. The apparatus is provided with a pair of edge guides opposedly arranged about the center line for holding the paper sheets. Movement of one of the edge guides results in the corresponding movement of the other about the center line. With the use of a clutch disc, either paper guide may be moved independently of the other effectively changing the center line relative to the feed path of the transport.

Film Cartridge Magazine

View page
US Patent:
54501601, Sep 12, 1995
Filed:
Dec 22, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/172013
Inventors:
Dennis F. Tianello - Spencerport NY
Alfonso Ianni - Rochester NY
John A. Romansky - Hilton NY
Gerald F. Sherman - LeRoy NY
William T. Matthias - Rochester NY
Ralph E. Williams - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03B 1310
US Classification:
354354
Abstract:
A cartridge magazine is provided including a plurality of sleeves, each defining a pocket for containing a film cartridge, and a hub supporting the sleeves parallel to one another in a ring. Each sleeve defines a non-circular cross-section accommodating longitudinal movement of the cartridges through the sleeve, but blocking rotational movement of the cartridges in the sleeve. The sleeve, is open along one side, defining a slot for accessing cartridges from the exterior of the magazine. In certain applications, film in selected cartridges is advanced from the cartridge and through the slot without removing the cartridge from the magazine. According to other features, duplicate sections of the magazine are combined with the sleeves arranged in columns for increased capacity.

Fuser Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
45014833, Feb 26, 1985
Filed:
Sep 2, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/528824
Inventors:
John A. Romansky - Rochester NY
Gary R. Matson - Scottsville NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03G 1520
US Classification:
355 3FU
Abstract:
Fuser apparatus for fusing a toner image to a support moved along a path which is inclined to the horizontal transversely to the direction of movement of the support. A fuser member is mounted adjacent to the path and has a wick for applying release material which is fluid at fusing temperatures to the fuser member. The wick is inclined to the horizontal and includes discontinuities or barriers to retard migration of release material to the lower end of the wick due to the influence of gravity.
