Filed:
Dec 15, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/968461
Inventors:
Joseph Alfred Iannotti - Niskayuna NY, US
Glen Koste - Niskayuna NY, US
Richard Joseph Gawrelski - Niskayuna NY, US
Kevin Earl Dufel - Niskayuna NY, US
Patrick Jay Biel - Niskayuna NY, US
Assignee:
GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY - Schenectady NY
International Classification:
G01R 31/02
US Classification:
324 72
Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the invention may include systems, methods, and apparatus for providing detecting lightning strikes. According to an example embodiment of the invention, a method for determining a lightning strike event, classification, and location is provided. The method includes receiving lightning electrical current in least one down conductor, generating voltage and polarity signals based at least in part on the received lightning electrical current, storing the generated voltage and polarity signals, and determining the lightning strike event, classification, and location based at least in part on the stored voltage and polarity signals.

System And Apparatus For Frequency Translation Of Magnetic Resonance (Mr) Signals

US Patent:
20100329527, Dec 30, 2010
Filed:
Jun 29, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/493600
Inventors:
Joseph Iannotti - Glenville NY, US
Thomas K.F. Foo - Clifton Park NY, US
Steven Go - Brooklyn NY, US
Kevin Dufel - Tribes Hill NY, US
International Classification:
G06K 9/00
G11B 5/127
US Classification:
382131, 2960323
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a first magnetic resonance (MR) coil element configured to output a first set of MR data at a first output frequency and a first mixer coupled to the first MR coil element. The first mixer is configured to receive the first set of MR data from the first MR coil element and frequency translate the first set of MR data to a first offset frequency different from the first output frequency by a first offset value. The apparatus also includes a digitizer coupled to the first mixer and configured to convert the frequency-translated first set of MR data into a set of digital data and a transmission line coupled to the first mixer and to the digitizer, the transmission line configured to transmit the frequency-translated first set of MR data from the MR coil element to the digitizer without a balun coupled to the transmission line.

US Patent:
20200053574, Feb 13, 2020
Filed:
Aug 8, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/058483
Inventors:
- Schenectady NY, US
Paulo Rodrigues Ferreira - Niskayuna NY, US
Tuomas Laine - Helsinki, FI
Trang Thai - Hillsboro OR, US
Kevin Dufel - Niskayuna NY, US
International Classification:
H04W 16/22
Abstract:
Apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to provide improved, dynamic wireless spectrum analysis in a healthcare environment are disclosed and described. An example apparatus includes radios to capture wireless signal information in an environment. The example apparatus includes a processor to activate and configure one or more of the radios according to a center frequency and/or a bandwidth to capture wireless signal information associated with the center frequency and/or bandwidth. The example processor is to generate a model of wireless signal activity based on the captured wireless signal information. The example model is to facilitate testing of a device according to the wireless signal activity in the environment. The example apparatus is to be portable to be positioned in the environment to capture the wireless signal information in the environment according to the one or more radios activated and configured by the processor for the environment.
