Method For Removing A Smp Apparatus From A Cured Composite Part

View page
US Patent:
20120119412, May 17, 2012
Filed:
Sep 21, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/238879
Inventors:
David E. Havens - Bellbrook OH, US
Matthew C. Everhart - Fairborn OH, US
Kristin Marie Cable - Monroe OH, US
Eric W. Traxler - Beavercreek OH, US
Carl Ray Fiegenbaum - Rose Hill KS, US
Jeffrey W. Priest - Rose Hill KS, US
Kodi Elizabeth Ann Caster - Wichita KS, US
Assignee:
SPIRIT AEROSYSTEMS, INC. - Wichita KS
International Classification:
B29C 61/06
US Classification:
264230
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for removing a SMP apparatus from within a cured composite part. The method may comprise the steps of triggering the SMP apparatus from a rigid state to a malleable state, inducing a pressure differential that drives the SMP apparatus, in the malleable state, away from the cured composite part and toward an inner mandrel tool, and removing the inner mandrel tool with the SMP apparatus resting thereon out of the cured composite part. The inner mandrel tool may comprise an outer surface having varying contours such that a surface area of the outer surface is great enough to prevent the SMP apparatus from folding over onto itself or creasing when driven toward the inner mandrel tool. A maximum straight line distance between points on the outer surface may be small enough to allow the inner mandrel tool clearance for removal from the cured composite part.

A61B 5/0205
A61B 5/01
A61B 5/145
Abstract:
A health monitoring garment is provided. The health monitoring garment includes an article of clothing comprising at least one compression section to provide a snug fit against a person wearing the article of clothing and a sensor island. The sensor island includes stretchable circuitry, two or more sensors, one or more power supplies, and optionally one or more wireless communication modules within a self-contained unit. At least one of the sensors comprises a stretchable sensor which may be a respiration sensor. The sensor unit may be provided independent of the health monitoring garment or as a complete system. The sensor island and compression section of the article of clothing also include fasteners of complementary geometries for reversible attachment and disengagement of the sensor island from the compression section.

US Patent:
20190247218, Aug 15, 2019
Filed:
Apr 24, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/393693
Inventors:
- Miamisburg OH, US
Joseph H. Althaus - Yellow Springs OH, US
Matthew B. Sunday - California KY, US
Jason M. Hermiller - Lebanon OH, US
Kelly H. Ridout - New Paris OH, US
Kristin M. Cable - Dayton OH, US
Brian R. Pleiman - Dayton OH, US
Joshua E. Nieman - Centerville OH, US
International Classification:
A61F 5/37
Abstract:
Head-and-neck immobilization devices may include a yoke sized and shaped to contact a person's back and shoulders. Two head immobilization pads may be sized and shaped to respectively contact opposing sides of the person's head, each of the two head immobilization pads connected to the yoke at a single location by a respective selectively rotatable, selectively fixable connection and independently fixed in place to immobilize the person's head responsive to the rotatable, selectively fixable connection to the yoke in a fixed mode.

US Patent:
20170042719, Feb 16, 2017
Filed:
Aug 14, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/827131
Inventors:
- Dayton OH, US
Joseph H. Althaus - Yellow Springs OH, US
Matthew B. Sunday - California KY, US
Jason M. Hermiller - Lebanon OH, US
Kelly H. Ridout - New Paris OH, US
Kristin M. Cable - Dayton OH, US
International Classification:
A61F 5/055
A61F 5/058
Abstract:
Head-and-neck immobilization devices may include a yoke sized and shaped to contact a person's back and shoulders. Straps may extend from the yoke, the straps configured to secure the yoke to the person's torso. Two head immobilization pads may be sized and shaped to respectively contact opposing sides of the person's head, each of the two head immobilization pads connected to the yoke by a respective selectively rotatable, selectively rigid connection. A majority of the person's head may remain unobstructed by the head-and-neck immobilization device when the two head immobilization pads contact the two opposing sides of the person's head and are rigidly secured in place to immobilize the person's neck and head.

Reusable Quick Release Fastener Systems And Articles Including The Same

View page
US Patent:
20150327634, Nov 19, 2015
Filed:
Oct 7, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/508358
Inventors:
- Dayton OH, US
Kristin Marie Cable - Monroe OH, US
Teresa Ellen Havens - Bellbrook OH, US
Jason Michael Hemiller - Liberty Township OH, US
International Classification:
A44B 18/00
F16M 13/02
Abstract:
Reusable quick-release fastener systems include fasteners composed of a neat polymer such as an elastomer or a shape memory polymer. The fasteners may be of any number of geometrical shapes, with each pair of fastening devices having mating geometries that are compatible with one another. The fastening devices provide an easy and nearly silent closure mechanism. The fastener systems can be used to attach one part to another or to act as the closure mechanism for an article comprising the fastener system, such as a pocket, a box, or a container, for example.
