Abstract:
A container () for holding granular or powdered material and formed by a top wall (), a bottom wall (), a front wall (), a rear wall (), a first side wall (), and a second side wall (). A rotatably removable lid (D) is interiorly mounted with a scoop () and is pivotally hinged to a collar () that includes a sealing gasket (). The collar () mounts to the walls of the container (). A sealing wall of the lid (D) cooperates with the gasket to prevent the contents from spilling. The container () incorporates additional sealing features wherein the gasket () projects inwardly from the collar () into an interior space (H, I) of the container () to be biased against the sealing flange (). The sealing wall includes modifications that funnel powder into the interior space (H,I) of the receptacle ().

Abstract:
A container includes a gripping groove and a panel structure that allows it to withstand retort or heat sterilization of a low acid liquid nutritional product contained therein. The container can be formed of a multilayer material that has titanium dioxide and iron oxide in an intermediate regrind layer and in at least one of its inner and outer layers. The titanium dioxide and iron oxide are provided together in the same meltable pellets, which are used for forming the container.
