Abstract:
A closure whereby a mold in the shape of a closure is injected with plastic, allowed to cure or cool, forms a closure having a top portion surrounded by sidewalls, said top portion formed from two opposing surfaces, whereby at least one of said surfaces is domed shaped forming a closure having a flat top portion. Particularly, this invention provides different embodiments allowing for the formation of a closure with a flat top portion which is aesthetically pleasing and prevents against disorientation during production and moreover, prevents the sidewalls of the closure from collapsing inward.

Abstract:
A closure seal for sealing a closure to a container land surface includes the application of a sealing material to the land surface just prior to the engagement of the closure and the land surface so that the sealing material may fill in any gaps, imperfections, or misalignments between the land surface and the opposing surface of the closure. In addition, the underside of the annular portion may be provided with a plurality of depending, variable length annular sealing beads which engage the land surface to effect a leak-proof seal.

Abstract:
A dispenser closure for attachment to the threaded neck of a container includes spout portion having an annular wall, a shoulder and a depending skirt, the skirt being threaded on an interior surface to lockingly engage the container neck, a spout formation disposed with an area defined by the annular wall and being integral with the spout portion, and a closed-top cap portion having a radially projecting annular shoulder with a depending collar, the collar being threaded on an interior surface to engage a threaded exterior surface of the upper end of the spout portion. A drainage opening in the spout portion facilitates the drainage of the entire contents of the container, and leveling formations facilitate automated assembly of the closure upon the container. Provisions are also disclosed for preventing the exposure of threaded areas of the closure to container contents.

Abstract:
A molded, back-off resistant closure for use with an associated container having a neck portion and at least one outwardly projecting ratchet formation includes a generally circular top wall portion and a skirt portion depending from the top wall portion. The skirt includes an inner wall and an outer wall and defines a lower wall portion. The skirt terminates in an edge and includes a thread formation formed in the inner wall for matingly engaging the neck portion of the container. The closure includes a plurality of lugs recessed from the edge and extending radially inwardly from the lower wall and longitudinally along the lower wall portion a distance so as to not touch the edge. The lugs extend outwardly and downwardly such that at least one of the lugs can engage the at least one outwardly projecting ratchet formation on the container neck portion when the container and closure are engaged with one another.

A dispenser closure for a container includes a body having a generally planar top portion and a peripheral skirt portion depending therefrom to form a cap-like formation, and the top portion is provided with at least one sifter opening, a larger opening for spooning or pouring and a pair of vertically projecting slide guides located thereon in diametrically opposed relation to each other. Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a tamper-evident closure includes providing a closure with a skirt having a lower edge, providing a separate break away band, and securing the band to the lower edge of the closure. The band may be secured to the lower edge by ultrasonic welding or by a suitable adhesive.
