Double Acting Log Splitter

View page
US Patent:
44163134, Nov 22, 1983
Filed:
Oct 30, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/316884
Inventors:
Richard E. Seeger - Kittery Point ME
Assignee:
Armatron International, Inc. - Melrose MA
International Classification:
B27L 700
US Classification:
144193R
Abstract:
A double acting log splitter has a longitudinally extending frame with a pair of mutually spaced fixed splitting components located along the length thereof. A movable splitting component is mounted on a carriage which is movable in opposite directions along the length of the frame between the fixed splitting components. The movable splitting component is arranged to coact with either of the stationary splitting components to split a log placed longitudinally therebetween. The carriage is driven in opposite directions by an operating mechanism which includes a nut carried by the carriage for movement therewith and a screw having one end fixed axially by and rotatably supported in bearings located at one end of the frame. The screw extends through the nut in threaded engagement therewith, with the opposite end of the screw preferably extending in an unsupported cantilever fashion beyond the nut and carriage. A reversible drive motor is connected to the supported end of the screw for rotatably driving the screw in one direction to move the carriage towards one of the fixed splitting components, and in the opposite direction to move the carriage towards the other of the fixed splitting components.

Keyboard Switch Assembly With Improved Pushbutton And Associated Double Snap Acting Actuator/Contactor Structure

View page
US Patent:
39782972, Aug 31, 1976
Filed:
Mar 31, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/563707
Inventors:
William J. Lynn - Groveland MA
Richard E. Seeger - Topsfield MA
Assignee:
Chomerics, Inc. - Woburn MA
International Classification:
H01H 1306
H01H 312
H01H 504
US Classification:
200 5A
Abstract:
A keyboard device which includes a frame having a plurality of bores in which there is positioned a core for slideable motion therein, and a keyboard top positioned over the bores and preferably sealing each of the cores within the bores of the frame so that no particles of food or dust can accumulate between the cores and the frame while still permitting the cores to be depressed to cause a contactor means to engage contact means. In the preferred embodiment the cores are loose within the bores and are held therein from the top by said keyboard top. In addition, a mask to simulate the appearance of a frame about the portions of the top is provided. In addition, the preferred embodiment is sealed on the top and bottom to protect the in words from the environment.

Isolated Path Coupling System

View page
US Patent:
41181026, Oct 3, 1978
Filed:
Apr 3, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/564710
Inventors:
Charles H. Kuist - Newburyport MA
Vincent Squitieri - Billerica MA
Richard E. Seeger - Topsfield MA
Assignee:
Chomerics, Inc. - Woburn MA
International Classification:
H01R 1300
US Classification:
339 17F
Abstract:
A circuit board or sheet of homogeneous material having one or more circuit elements adhering to a surface thereof, said sheet providing a low through resistance path between each circuit element and opposed and aligned contacts positioned in surface contact with the opposite side of the sheet while providing a high isolation resistance between out of alignment contacts positioned on the opposite side of the sheet and between contacts positioned on the same side of the sheet positioned an isolation distance from said circuit elements. The circuit board with a circuit pattern is shown in various applications, such as keyboard or watch.

Keyboard Switch Assembly Having Flexible Contact Layer With Snap Initiator Dome

View page
US Patent:
40963640, Jun 20, 1978
Filed:
Feb 22, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/770519
Inventors:
William Joseph Lynn - Groveland MA
Richard E. Seeger - Topsfield MA
Assignee:
Chomerics, Inc. - Woburn MA
International Classification:
H01H 1370
H01H 100
US Classification:
200 5A
Abstract:
Keyboards having flexible plastic domes which snap when depressed to provide tactile feel, at least some of said domes formed from a sheet of plastic and having a bar shaped concave snap initiator formed in said dome, and an actuator comprising at least one cross bar for engaging the snap initiator to initiate dome depression in situations in which the actuator used to depress the dome does not effectively produce snapping of the conventional dome because of the shape of the actuator.

Electrically Powered Log Splitter

View page
US Patent:
44237596, Jan 3, 1984
Filed:
Oct 30, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/316885
Inventors:
Richard E. Seeger - Kittery Point ME
Assignee:
Armatron International, Inc. - Melrose MA
International Classification:
B27L 700
US Classification:
144193R
Abstract:
An electrically powered log splitter has a frame carrying a pair of mutually spaced fixed splitting components with a carriage mounted movable splitting component movable in opposite directions therebetween. A reversible electric drive motor is mechanically connected to the carriage to propel the carriage in opposite directions. A control switch is electrically connected between a power source and the drive motor. The switch has a first closed setting at which the drive motor is energized to move the carriage and its movable splitting component in one direction toward one of the fixed splitting components, a second closed setting at which the drive motor is energized to move the carriage and its movable splitting component in the opposite direction towards the other of the fixed splitting components, and a third normally open setting at which the drive motor is deenergized to halt movement of the carriage. An operating handle is provided to manually adjust the switch from its normally open third setting to either of its first or second closed settings. A shuttle rod is formed integrally with the operating handle and is engageable by the carriage to adjust the switch from either of its first or second closed settings to its normally open third setting in order to limit carriage movement in either direction.
