Seatback Latch Mechanism With Pivoting Locking Pin

View page
US Patent:
6550864, Apr 22, 2003
Filed:
Mar 23, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/816052
Inventors:
William Zarna - Macomb MI
Rick L. Ohsiek - Sterling Heights MI
Shihong Yu - Troy MI
Assignee:
Fisher Dynamics Corporation - St. Clair Shores MI
International Classification:
B60N 202
US Classification:
29737812
Abstract:
A seatback latch mechanism is provided for locking a seatback in one of either an upright position or a fold-forward position relative to a seat. The seatback latch mechanism includes a lower quadrant rotatably supporting an upper quadrant. A lock cam and lock pin are each rotatably supported by the upper quadrant. A first surface of the lock pin interfaces the lock cam and a second surface of the lock pin interfaces the lower quadrant. The lock cam is biased to selectively force the lock pin into engagement with the lower quadrant for locking the upper quadrant relative to the lower quadrant in either of two positions. When the upper quadrant pivots relative to the lower quadrant, the lock pin rotates relative to the upper quadrant.

Shift Collar Assembly For A Power Transfer Unit

View page
US Patent:
20160061274, Mar 3, 2016
Filed:
Apr 14, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/784049
Inventors:
- Auburn Hills MI, US
Austin Gerding - Shelby Township MI, US
Tony Arden - Davisburg MI, US
Rick Ohsiek - Sterling Heights MI, US
Samuel Oram - Rochester Hills MI, US
Joseph Palazzolo - Commerce Township MI, US
International Classification:
F16D 11/14
Abstract:
In at least some implementations, a disconnect assembly for a power transfer unit includes a cam and a cam follower. The cam is driven for rotation and has a cam surface that is inclined relative to an axis of rotation and a void spaced from the cam surface. The cam follower has a cam engagement surface and is arranged to be engaged by the cam surface so that the cam follower is displaced axially during at least a portion of the rotation of the cam. One or both of the cam and the cam follower includes an interface surface provided at an angle to the axis of rotation to control axial movement of the cam follower during at least a portion of the rotation of the cam when the cam surface is not engaged with the cam engagement surface.

US Patent:
20150321554, Nov 12, 2015
Filed:
May 8, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/707534
Inventors:
- Auburn Hills MI, US
Tony N. Arden - Davisburg MI, US
Daniel S. Engerer - West Bloomfield MI, US
Austin R. Gerding - Shelby Township MI, US
Robert E. Toaso - Livonia MI, US
Rick Ohsiek - Sterling Heights MI, US
International Classification:
B60K 23/08
F16D 23/12
F16D 11/14
Abstract:
A vehicle power transfer unit (PTU) disconnect assembly can include a first shaft, a second shaft, and a collar assembly. The first shaft has a first split-spline at its exterior surface. The second shaft is telescoped over the first shaft and has a set of splines at its exterior surface. A helical gear is carried by the second shaft. The collar assembly is situated around both of the first and second shafts. The collar assembly has a second split-spline at its interior surface.
