US Patent:
20080032610, Feb 7, 2008
Filed:
Aug 2, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/888688
Inventors:
Shajan Chacko - Joplin MO, US
Duane Johnson - Joplin MO, US
Jeffrey Stephens - Joplin MO, US
Will Lambeth - Carthage MO, US
Assignee:
KMT Waterjet Systems Inc. - Baxter Springs KS
International Classification:
B24C 5/04
B05B 1/00
B05B 7/04
B26F 3/00
B24C 3/12
B24C 5/02
US Classification:
451102000, 239433000, 239589000, 083177000
Abstract:
A cutting head for a water jet cutting machine includes a base with a bore and an orifice member having an inlet, an outlet, and a passage extending between the inlet and outlet which increases velocity of fluid flowing through the passage to form a fluid jet. A wear insert has first and second ends, a passage extending between the two ends, the body second end being connected with the base and the body first end supporting the orifice member. A fluid focusing device includes a tubular body with a central passage having inlet and discharge ports, the tubular body being disposable within the base bore such that the body inlet port is fluidly coupleable with the orifice outlet. The tubular body and/or the base are/is configured such that the tubular body is separately positionable at one of a plurality of discrete, predetermined angular positions about the base bore axis.

Abrasive Waterjet Focusing Tube Retainer And Alignment Device

US Patent:
20130112056, May 9, 2013
Filed:
Nov 4, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/289756
Inventors:
Shajan Chacko - Joplin MO, US
David Wands - Columbus KS, US
International Classification:
B26F 1/26
US Classification:
83177
Abstract:
A cutting head for a high pressure water jet cutting assembly includes a body having an inner chamber and an aperture that extends into the inner chamber. A focusing tube is removably insertable within the inner chamber along a longitudinal axis. An engagement member is at least partially disposed within the aperture and movable between a first position and a second position in which a portion of the engagement member is disposed within the inner chamber. A retaining member is engageable with the body and movable with respect to the body to bias the engagement member into engagement with the focusing tube to retain the focusing tube within the inner chamber and to align the focusing tube substantially along the longitudinal axis.

US Patent:
20140015202, Jan 16, 2014
Filed:
Jul 13, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/549232
Inventors:
Shajan V. Chacko - Joplin MO, US
David C. Wands - Columbus KS, US
International Classification:
F16J 15/16
US Classification:
277500
Abstract:
A seal assembly seals a gap between a pump plunger and a high pressure cylinder of a pump. The assembly includes a seal ring having a bore through which the plunger can extend, a front axial end, and a rear axial end. An O-ring is positioned on the seal ring. A packing ring has a bore through which the plunger can extend, a front axial end abutting the rear axial end of the seal ring, and a rear axial end. A non-metal packing follower has a bore through which the plunger can extend, a front axial end abutting the rear axial end of the packing ring, and a rear axial end. The non-metal packing follower can be ceramic (e.g., carbide) or similar hard, wear-resistant materials.
