Assignee:
Medtronic PS Medical, Inc. - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
A61B 17/14
US Classification:
606 82
Abstract:
A surgical cutting blade for cutting bone material when the blade is coupled to a hand-held surgical saw includes a distal portion comprising a plurality of cutting teeth, a shank portion adjacent the distal portion, and a proximal portion adjacent the shank portion. The proximal portion may include a longitudinally extending slot having a proximal opening. The slot may be shaped to receive a portion of the surgical saw through the proximal opening. The proximal portion may have a plurality of deflectable fingers respectively separated from a plurality of main body portions by respective gaps. The plurality of deflectable fingers may extend adjacent the longitudinally extending slot, and may deflect into the gaps to increase and decrease a width of a portion of the slot.

Surgical Instrument Motor With Increased Number Of Wires Per Phase Set And Increased Fill Factor And Corresponding Manufacturing Method

US Patent:
20210167655, Jun 3, 2021
Filed:
Feb 15, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/175823
Inventors:
- Jacksonville FL, US
Vikram A. Garadi - Fort Worth TX, US
Thierry A. Bieler - Echichens, CH
Christian R. Koechli - Yvonand, CH
International Classification:
H02K 3/28
H02K 3/04
H02K 15/04
H02K 3/47
Abstract:
A motor for a surgical instrument includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor includes a shaft and a magnet. The stator includes (i) a cavity in which the rotor is disposed, and (ii) a coil assembly. The coil assembly includes multiple phase sets. The phase sets include multiple sets of wires. Each of the phase sets includes multiple coils and corresponds to a respective one of the sets of wires. The coils in each of the phase sets are at respective positions about the rotor. One of the sets of wires includes at least three wires. The stator causes the rotor to axially rotate a surgical tool of the surgical instrument based on current received at the sets of wires.

Methods Of Making Mammary Implants And Tissue Expanders Having Ribbed Shells

View page
US Patent:
20210093444, Apr 1, 2021
Filed:
Dec 14, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/121028
Inventors:
- Irvine CA, US
Joseph Henry Contiliano - Stewartsville NJ, US
Vikram Garadi - Fort Worth TX, US
John Haroutunian - Grapevine TX, US
International Classification:
A61F 2/12
B29C 41/14
Abstract:
A method of making an implantable prosthesis having internal ribs includes forming a shell over a substrate, depositing a curable material onto a first surface of the shell to form one or more ribs on the first surface of the shell, removing the shell from the substrate, and inverting the shell so that a second surface of the shell is disposed outside the shell and the first surface of the shell is disposed inside the shell with the one or more ribs projecting inwardly into an interior volume of the shell. The curable material is cured so that the one or more ribs are integrally secured to the first surface of the shell. After the inverting step, the interior volume of the shell is filled with a biocompatible filler material
