US Patent:
58761578, Mar 2, 1999
Filed:
Jul 18, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/896889
Inventors:
William Wethered - Washougal WA
International Classification:
B23B 4514
US Classification:
408104
Abstract:
A drill and forming tool centering jig. The tool is useful centering a drill, bit body, or forming tool with respect to a workpiece shaft face in which a bore is to drilled or a surface is to be shaped. The tool has a generally cylindrical tubular body having a first threaded end portion with external threads thereon, and a second, bushing end opposite thereto. Within the body are secured a first collet and a second collet. A collet compressor to inwardly urges the inner reaches of both collets radially inward toward the outer surface of the workpiece when a jam nut assembly is threadably engaged and tightened on the external threads on the threaded end portion of the body. A bushing is provided to be slideably engaged with and secured in the body. Within the bushing, a forming tool is provided that is adapted to slidingly engage and rotate within the bushing. The forming tool is adapted to shape a working face of a workpiece shaft that is brought into engagement with the forming tool.

US Patent:
61323217, Oct 17, 2000
Filed:
Jul 17, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/896108
Inventors:
William Wethered - Washougal WA
International Classification:
A63B 5900
US Classification:

Abstract:
A joint system for cue sticks. The system includes a joining member, a sleeve, and a receiving member. The cue stick shaft is prepared by drilling and tapping therein a centered threaded bore extending inwardly along a longitudinal axis from a center end face which is transverse to the longitudinal axis. The cue stick handle is similarly prepared. The joining member is preferably integrally formed or machined from a single solid part, and includes a pin portion and a smaller stud portion with a transverse oriented transition portion therebetween preferably shaped as an annular face portion. The pin portion has an externally threaded engagement portion adapted to securely locate the joining member, in the threaded bore in the cue stick shaft. The stud portion extends along the longitudinal axis outward from the pin portion, and has, at the distal end, a threaded locking portion. A receiving member is provided to receive the stud portion.
