Protective Boxing Glove

View page
US Patent:
20110277205, Nov 17, 2011
Filed:
May 11, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/777382
Inventors:
Xavier A. Cuadrado - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
A41D 19/015
US Classification:
2 18
Abstract:
A protective boxing glove includes a palm-side portion and back-side portion together forming a hand receiving opening and having a series of finger stalls for receiving and at least partially covering the fingers. The palm and back side portions extend to a point at least beyond the wrist and over the forearm to cover the wrist when the glove is worn by a user, the back side portion generally defining a predetermined lateral width in the region covering the metacarpals. A resilient cushion is provided on the back side portion for covering at least the knuckles and at least portions of the proximal phalanges. A wrist strap is used for manually tensioning the glove about the wrist portion. A self adjusting tensioning strap extends laterally from side to side of said back-side portion substantially along a direction primarily normal to the orientations of the metacarpals. The strap has an elastic portion having a length less than said predetermined width to at least gather the back-side portion to normally reduce its width of the glove covering the metacarpals when a hand is not received with the glove, while the strap is caused to stretch laterally when a hand is received within the glove. The resulting restoring forces in the elastic portion are directed laterally inwardly, tending to compress the width of the hand in the region of the metacarpals and bring the metacarpals into closer juxtaposition relative to each other to better transfer any forces applied to one or more knuckles or metacarpals to at least one or more additional metacarpals, thereby reducing the likelihood of breakage or damage to the bones in the hand.

Hydrostrike Speed Bag Platform

View page
US Patent:
20110281696, Nov 17, 2011
Filed:
May 11, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/777778
Inventors:
Xavier A. Cuadrado - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
A63B 69/22
US Classification:
482 87
Abstract:
A finable striking bag support includes a generally planar platform. Brackets mount the platform in a generally horizontal plane to a wall or vertical surface. The platform has a smooth lower surface when mounted on the support surface and defining circular predetermined area. A swivel joint on the lower surface is generally centrally located within the predetermined area. The swivel joint is attached to a striking or speed bag for swiveling movements between a generally vertical position when the bag is at rest and for impacting against the smooth surface when struck by swiveling to positions generally normal to the rest position. The platform is molded of a plastic material and is formed on the upper surface with a system of concentric channels substantially covering the entire predetermined area, the channels being in fluid flow communication with each other. An inlet is provided on the upper surface for enabling a fluid medium, such as water, to be inputted into the channels to provide ballast to the hollow platform and make it suitable for use with the striking or speed bag.

Universal Heavy Bag Hanger

View page
US Patent:
20120091294, Apr 19, 2012
Filed:
May 25, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/787156
Inventors:
Xavier A. Cuadrado - Brooklyn NY, US
Jason Whitworth - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
F16M 13/02
US Classification:
248 95
Abstract:
The universal heavy bag hanger is used to secure a heavy bag to an overhead horizontal support member. The bag hanger includes a flat pad that has a length along a length direction to wrap around a support member. The pad includes a slip resistant material that engages the support member when mounted thereon. A strap is secured to the outside surface and extends beyond the longitudinal ends of the flat pad. A D-shaped ring is attached to one free end of the strap suitable for attachment to a heavy bag or the like. The other end of the strap is provided with a rectangular closed ring dimensioned to allow the D-shaped ring to pass through it to form a slip joint for tightening the strap about the pad, when increased load is applied to prevent or inhibit relative sliding movements between the hanger and the support member.

Multi-Function Striking Bag

View page
US Patent:
20130324372, Dec 5, 2013
Filed:
May 31, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/906414
Inventors:
Xavier A. CUADRADO - Brooklyn NY, US
Matthew Cowan - Hoboken NJ, US
Jason Whitworth - Brooklyn NY, US
Michael Infantino - New York NY, US
International Classification:
A63B 69/20
US Classification:
482 90
Abstract:
A multi-function striking bag includes a base and an adjustable length elongate member or post having lower and upper free ends. The lower free end is normally supported by the base in a substantial vertical orientation defining a vertical axis. A punching bag is supported on the upper free end. Two helical springs are spaced from each other along the post in-line with the post for providing flexing points where the springs are positioned. A flex-inhibitor is associated with each spring for selectively enabling an associated spring to flex and provide a flexing point or preventing flexing to prevent a flexing point. Each flex inhibitor includes a rod that is slidably mounted within the post and selectively movable between axial positions to engage or clear an associated helical spring.
