About OfSearch
OfSearch is a plain-English guide to people search sites in the United States. We review the services — Spokeo, WhitePages, FastPeopleSearch, BeenVerified, PeopleFinders, VeriPages — and the services that promise to scrub you from them. We also publish the removal procedures, site by site, so you can do the work yourself.
How the reviews are done
Every review on this site follows the same steps. We sign up for the free tier and note exactly what it shows. We test the paid product — trial where one exists, report purchase where that is the only option — and log what the report actually contains. We run the removal procedure end to end and time it. If a site changed its pricing or its opt-out flow since we looked, we say so in the review. That is the whole method.
We are not affiliated with any of the companies we write about, and we do not take money for placement or removal of reviews. The main comparison pages link to each service’s own site for one reason only: the prices and data change constantly, and the service is the authoritative source for its current offering.
What this site is not
OfSearch does not sell background checks, and it does not provide legal advice. If a question is about your legal rights — an employer’s use of a background report, a debt collector’s access to your records — the place to ask is a consumer-protection attorney or your state attorney general’s office.
The field keeps moving. Every piece of information here carries the date it was written, and where the industry changed after publication, we update the page.
